Overview
Spidey Mondays
Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland's live-action Spider-Man films are all returning to theaters in celebration of Columbia Pictures' 100th anniversary.
All eight films in Sony's different Spider-Man sagas will hit cinemas for one week only, a new one every Monday, between April 15th and June 10th. Maguire's trilogy, which were directed by Sam Raimi and released in 2002, 2004 and 2007, will be up first and return to the silver screen on April 15, April 22nd and April 29th, respectively, while Garfield's Marc Webb-helmed The Amazing Spider-Man from 2012 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 from 2014 will be in theaters on May 6th and May 13th. Finally, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man films, which stars Holland, are scheduled for May 20th, May 27th and June 3rd.
The Challenge
To celebrate the event, AMC theaters is wanted to sell promotional items to draw customers into their theater, instead of the competition. The client is asking for poster designs, something different and fun to give the customers, other than the original movie posters, and merchandise.

Ideation and Inspiration
To begin my process with this design, I wanted to start with designing one of the movie specific posters. I plan on illustrating nine posters. The main poster will be the event poster that will be displayed before the event for promotion and the other eight will be movie specific posters. I feel if I get a good feel on one poster design, I can set up a solid theme for the rest of the designs. I will start with my favorite Spider-Man film, The Amazing Spider-Man.
Moodboard
I approached these moodboards a little differently than I traditionally do. With these, I decided to pull posters and movie scenes that would inspire me. I did this because I wanted to make psoters that would highlight a single scene in the films so I researched some iconic ones and I wanted to find a tone I would want to set for my designs. I felt other posters would inspire me.

Reflection
Overall, This project was a success and I accomplished what I set out to design. I was able to create multiple poster designs for this event and even managed to get some merchandise designs in for the client. The end design for the first poster was a minimalistic style poster taking place at a pivotal scene in the film and foreshadows the films antagonist. From here, I was able to take that idea and play on to the other films. The promotional poster is a fun silhouette style poster, not as minimalistic as the others, and shows two of each Spider-Men suits.
The main challenge was matching up the designs. I struggled with this, then got the idea to not match it up with the film series, but match it up with the movie number (Spider-Man 1 matches The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and Spider-Man: Homecoming). I did this to make the customer want to buy all of the posters and I thought it was a unique way to approach the designs.
Overall, I am very happy with the outcome and learned a lot from this experience.
